A very warm welcome from Adventures of a Creative Girl!
Adventures of a Creative Girl was created by a woman name Sophie in 2015 (see below). It started a simple blog to share her creative projects but it evolved into so much more. It’s now a community for creative women by creative women. Men are always welcome too of course!
You’ll find here a whack of information, projects and inspiration for your next creative adventure. From people just like you - creative makers, artists and crafters from around the world. You won’t get bored here. We have everything from tutorials for paper and fabric flowers to cross stitch canvas art. Organizing projects, sweet desserts, vegetarian recipes and wardrobe hacks. Traditional crafts with a modern spin and SO much more. The inventory of projects and articles here keeps growing and growing.
You’ll find the tutorials and projects on Adventures of a Creative Girl divided within the following categories: DIY PROJECTS, CRAFTING and RECIPES,
However, there’s so so much more than just creative projects. You’ll find articles about all aspects of creativity, like the most important things in LIFE: fashion and travel ;). And for you bloggers or aspiring bloggers out there, there’s a category just for BLOGGING.
A little more about each category:
DIY PROJECTS Venture into the world of “do it yourself” – this category will often coincide with crafting because they’re often one in the same. Think along the lines of home decor, home organization, beauty products and much more.
CRAFTING Traditional crafts such as weaving, knitting and the like but with a modern, artsy and sometimes bohemian spin.
RECIPES Pretty self-explanatory – divided into sub categories as such: APPETIZERS, MAINS and DESSERTS. Many of the recipes are vegetarian but all of them are uber delicious.
LIFE Where you’ll find projects and articles about fashion, travel, health and more. Like I said, the most important parts of life.
BLOGGING Articles for anyone who’s interested in starting or getting information about this wonderful field that’s so rewarding but sometimes very stressful.
Social Media is where it’s at!
Follow us on social media! We’ll let you know when we post a new project plus we share fun artsy things and information about our guest bloggers:

It took on a life of it’s own
Let me first say how genuinely grateful I am that you are here visiting this site!
My name is Sophie and I created this site in 2015 as a place to post my artistic endeavours and share them with the world. It was sort of like a diary to keep track of the things I was making. I also had no experience with blogging whatsoever so it was quite the journey into the unknown but I soon discovered I truly enjoyed it. It turned into another super satisfying creative avenue for me.
I was spending more and more time blogging and adding more and more articles and posts. Adventures of a Creative Girl has since evolved into something much bigger than me - I guess you could say it’s taken on a life of its own.
I still post my creative projects here quite a bit but now guest crafters and artists from around the world also do so. It has turned into a sort of “crafting and art community for women” where you can find loads of inspiration and creative project and also share your own creative adventures. This site has a large amount of creative information and projects from fellow creative women from ALL around the world - 98% of it is FREE! Pretty amazing, eh? (Have you guessed I’m Canadian yet?) The abilities and skills that these women possess is so unique and special. I am in a constant state of awe and admiration. I’m so honoured to be a part of it and I count my lucky stars every single day.
In short, if I were to describe this site to you, I would say that it’s a community of like-minded women who love to take on new and exciting creative adventures; to make and create whatever their little heart desires. Anything from desserts to creating a new wardrobe - if it can be made, designed or created and we want it - we’re on it! And it’s all here on this site for you to peruse and to get inspired!
A little more about me
I studied Applied Arts in University with a concentration in Textile Arts. However, I’ve been “artistic” and creating since I was a little girl. My mother couldn’t keep me in enough art classes to keep my creativity busy. It wasn’t odd to see me covered in paint or ink or some other form of art material - in fact it was odd to find me without it!
I now live on the east coast of Canada with my BF (who I reunited with after 12 years apart!) and for whom I’m very grateful for. He’s constantly supportive of my artistic endeavours. I also share my house with my BFF’s Bernadette the Pug and Dex the Mutt. You’ll see a few pics of them in my posts here and there. I can’t help it, they’re my little helpers therefore they absolutely need to be everywhere’s I go. 😉
I enjoy being creative (of course), travelling, decorating the house, organizing anything I can and reading before going to bed. I’m always up for reading material suggestions - so drop me a line if you’ve read a good book lately. I do this blogging thing full-time at the moment and even though it’s a lot of work, I love and enjoy EVERY SINGLE MINUTE OF IT.
Wanna work with me?
If you’re interested in advertising or becoming a guest blogger, want to work with me or just want to have a friendly chat - please contact me and I’ll try to get back to you. Just kidding - it might take me a couple of days but you’ll hear from me soon enough.
Once again, thank you for your visit to Adventures of a Creative Girl and I truly hope that you were creatively inspired and will come back again real soon. <3
